The Parents’ Association exists to
enhance the quality of school life for our children
and the future children of St. Cedd’s.

The PA is represented by a committee of 16 volunteer parents who meet once a month. The committee organises fundraising and social events for the children and the parents of the school and making an important contribution to our school’s environment.

“The Wish List”
The PA is in constant contact with the school through Miss Palmer, “school liaison officer”, who co-ordinates the staff and children’s “Wish List”. This list contains the hoped-for items that would not otherwise be considered or funded by the school (for example, updating the media system, or reading corner cushions). Raising the funds to help purchase the items on the “wish list” involves us all working as a team; children, parents and school, and hopefully having a lot of fun. The building of the new classrooms means that the wish list is sure to grow.

Ultimately, we depend upon parental contributions and support.

The PA do not in any way get involved in the politics of the school, however, volunteers do gain a unique and invaluable insight into school life, the pupils and parents. This access alone makes volunteering worthwhile - along with seeing the children smile.

Summer Fun Day
We hosted our Summer Fun Day on Saturday, 4 July at Boyton Hall and what a day!  You will see from the photos below, that the stocks proved to be a great success and certainly helped the children to stay cool.  The fire engines and inflatables were very popular, as was the face painter who worked on until well past 5pm to ensure that no children were left disappointed.

The tug of war competitions, as always, were fiercely contested and the trophy has now been handed over to a new team captain until the next fun day in 2010.

A very big thank you to everyone who helped out and to Mr and Mrs Philpot for providing the venue.
